I co-founded the Oakland chapter of The First Tee to give back to the community with my own unique experience. The nine core values (Honesty, Integrity, Judgment, Sportsmanship, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Respect, Courtesy) taught via the golf experience are valuable life tools. I was fortunate to play golf as a youth. The game opened a door to me ninety days after I joined my high school team. One of my teammates had to leave practice early there was more work than help at his job. I asked if I could come inquire about work. When I spoke with his manager, he asked how my teammate knew me. Golf made my reputation without opening my mouth, I started the next day.
