The student learned several skills from using various technologies to construct a magazine:
- Photoshop allowed the student to crop, place, and transform photos to suit the magazine genre, and add effects like bold text to emphasize artists and catch readers' eyes.
- InDesign was initially confusing but helped the student challenge conventions by creating shapes, page numbers, and arranging images. It was used to construct contents pages and double page spreads.
- Blogger helped the student track progress, access classmates' work, get feedback, and improve their own magazine.
- Illustrator enabled the design of a unique masthead that branded the magazine, and effects were added to make it glow and appear 3D.Digital portfolio 2
