Multiple	Subject	Credential	Program	
Social	Media	Recommendations	
	 Your	goal	for	social	media	is	to	be	used	as	a	resource	for	potential	students,	current	
students,	alumni	and	staff.	Facebook,	Twitter	and	Instagram	are	the	key	players	in	your	
social	media	strategy.		
Facebook		
The	Kremen	Facebook	page	has	701	likes,	including	alumni,	students,	faculty	and	
staff,	and	is	used	to	provide	information	for	those	who	don’t	know	about	upcoming	events,	
projects	that	students	are	working	on,	application	deadlines,	to	highlight	student/alumni	
achievement	or	anything	else	that	could	benefit	them.

The	Kremen	Twitter	page	has	1,004	followers	and	it	is	used	to	provide	real	time	
information	on	ongoing	events	and	to	highlight	their	involvement	with	other	organizations.	
Keeping	in	form	with	other	organization’s	use	of	Twitter,	this	is	where	people	come	when	
they	want	to	know	what	is	going	on.

	 Kremen	has	had	an	active	Instagram	account	for	three	weeks	and	it	that	time	its	
gained	119	followers,	which	for	being	a	three-week-old	account	is	not	bad.	It’s	an	ongoing	
project	with	a	lot	of	potential.	The	challenge	with	Instagram,	in	its	current	form,	is	that	it’s
being	used	in	the	same	way	that	a	twitter	account	would	be	used.	You	need	to	develop	a	
clear	goal	for	how	to	use	you	Instagram	account.	
Suggestions	
	 Kremen	has	done	a	great	job	in	maintaining	their	Facebook	account	and	given	the	
4.4	score	that	reviewers	have	given	them	it	seems	that	those	who	are	engaging	with	the	
page	are	satisfied	with	it.	Some	things	you	can	do	further	increase	satisfaction	is	participate	
in	social	media	themes	and	trends.	One	of	the	first	things	we	were	told	about	the	Kremen	
School	is	that	they	wanted	to	create	an	all	inclusive	program	so	if	a	Fresno	State	
organization	is	celebrating	Black	History	Month	or	recognizing	the	achievements	women	
have	made	in	certain	fields	then	Kremen	should	do	whatever	it	can	to	promote	those	
organization	and	match	them.	Show	what	Kremen	students	are	doing	to	turn	education	
into	a	progressive	field.	
	 The	Kremen	Twitter	page	works	like	their	Facebook	page	in	how	it	is	used	to	share	
information	and	recognize	achievements.	Since	Twitter	works	in	a	faster	pace	than	
Facebook	and	posts	often	get	buried	under	many	updates,	it’s	a	good	idea	to	repeat	really	
important/urgent	posts.		
	 Instagram	is	where	changes	need	to	be	made.	You	need	to	show	your	followers	how	
your	Instagram	page	is	different	than	your	Facebook	and	Twitter	pages.	Instagram	should	
be	used	to	highlight	the	people	within	Kremen.	Show	off	your	students,	your	faculty	and	
your	program.	Let	people	know	that	you’ve	created	success	stories,	let	them	know	how	the	
Multiple	Subject	Credential	Program	is	giving	students	the	tools	necessary	to	be	great	
teachers	and	let	them	know	what	faculty	is	doing	to	make	everything	happen.	For	this	it	is	
important	that	pictures	are	always	being	taken	at	every	possible	moment.	Do	things	like
having	alumni	share	pictures	of	them	in	the	classroom	or	ask	professors	to	photograph	
their	students.	Overall	just	use	Instagram	to	show	the	personal	side	of	the	Kremen.	
Analytics		
	 You	should	be	analyzing	your	success	in	social	media	every	month.	Find	out	what	
kind	of	posts	get	the	most	activity	and	adjust	your	social	media	plan	accordingly	by	taking	
advantage	of	the	analytic	tools	that	most	social	media	pages	offer.	Apps	like	Iconosquare	
and	InstaFollow	work	well	in	tracking	your	followers	and	tracking	your	growth	for
