FADE IN: NON DIEGETIC SOUND
SCENE ONE
Sarah is in her dressing gown, making breakfast for
daughter Laila, she is preparing at the toaster behind the
breakfast bar. She is singing to herself, the tune of
Home by Westlife. Laila skips into the kitchen and sits
down at the bar, ready for breakfast.
Sarah: Come on sweetheart you havent got long (puts
breakfast down and turns down the radio)
Laila: Mummmmm wheres my bag (looks in drawers)
Sarah: Come on Laila (2) Ben will be
here soon
(Laila sits down and Sarah joins her after getting Lailas
bag from the chair)
Sarah: You looking forward to school honey dont you have
to give the Tudor work in today (on phone while saying
this, occasionally looks up)
Laila: Yeah mum butttt Im tired I want(2)(picks at cereal)
sleep (eats cereal)
Sarah: Laila youll be at upper school in a bit you cant
keep being lazy (phone buzzes, looks at phone and clears
throat)
[TWO KNOCKS ON DOOR]
Sarah: Right come on (gets up, walks towards front door)
Bens here
(Laila gets up straight away in a strop, picks her bag up
and walks towards Sarah, can hear Ben and Sarah chatting at
door)
Sarah: Right see you later darling (kisses her cheek) have
a good day

Sarah: Are you going to leave that on (Kamil unzips)
SCENE 5
(Ben zips up his coat)
Ben: I hate Mrs Frost
Laila: I hate her more
Ben: I know who hates her(looks at Laila) guess
Laila: no tell me no wait
Ben: Becky
Laila: Oi (pushes his arm)
SCENE 6
[NON DIEGETIC SOUND]
(Kamil strokes Sarahs arm, she turns back around, and
starts to unclip her bra)
SCENE 7
Ben: (unclips bag) and I finished all the homework
Laila: Well so did I (unzips her bag)
(Laila begins rummaging through her bag and looks confused)
Laila: I cant find it I cant (looks up at Ben) its not
here (keeps rummaging through)

SCENE 9
(Laila locks her hands)
Laila: Come with me
Ben: Nooo just leave it come on were gunna be late
Laila: no miss will kill me
Ben: Well you go im not
Laila: Mumll kill me if I go myself
Ben: Im not going were nearly at school (continues
walking)
Laila: Ill go alone then
(Laila turns around and begins to walk back in a strop)
SCENE 10
[NON DIEGETIC SOUND THROUGHOUT]
(on her front, film from foot, in the shot Sarah is turned
over stop just above knee)
SCENE 11
(Laila looks for keys in her bag)
Laila: Eh
(keeps walking as she is looking, occasionally looks up to
see where she is going)
SCENE 12
[SOUND EFFECTS]
SCENE 13
(Laila sighs, is messing about with keys, drops outside
garden)

- 3. 3 SCENE 2 (Sarah walks in and turns music up on radio, she goes onto her phone and makes a phone call) Sarah: Hello(2) yeah (2) thats okay (2) yeah okay see you then (she begins clearing dishes and puts juice cartons away, goes upstairs) SCENE 3 (Ben acts like he is walking up stairs) Ben: I can actually hop for longer now watch Laila: No Im better (Begins hopping and Laila joins in and stops first after 10 seconds, Ben laughs and takes a sip of his drink) SCENE 4 (She applies lipstick and is ready in a seductive outfit, and doorbell rings. She finishes up and goes down and answers the door) Kamil: (looks up seductively) Hello Sarah: (half a smile, not very interested) Come in (Kamil goes in through to the kitchen. He picks up a photoframe of Laila and observes it and half smiles) Sarah: (walks in, oblivious to Kamil) *clears throat* (Kamil instantly puts the frame down and looks her up and down) Sarah: Take a seat (stays stood at the door) (he sits down, on edge of seat) Kamil: *clears throat* I dont usually do this Sarah: Dont worry (pours champagne) youre safe with me (passes a glass) Kamil: (lifts glass for cheers)
