Forum for International Conventions
• Established in 2009 in order to:
  • Provide a framework for ongoing collaboration and coordination
    between The Capital Region of Denmark, the universities of
    Copenhagen and Wonderful Copenhagen to attract international
    scientific congresses to Copenhagen
  • Create professional cooperation between the involved universities
  • Promote the opportunity of hosting international scientific
    congresses among employees of the universities
  • Collect statistics on international scientific congresses held at
    universities
Strategic Cluster Support Bidding Strategy
• Strategic clusters are established within key scientific areas:
  • Life-science
  • IT & Communications
  • Clean-Tech
• Cluster members are government agencies, organizations,
  universities and corporations
• Clusters support Copenhagen as host city for events within key
  scientific areas
• Clusters meet 2-3 times per year to review potential events and discuss
  stratigic approach on how to bid for and win specific events
Strategic Cluster Support Bidding Strategy
Copenhagen Advisory Board
• Consists of 30 senior representatives from universities,
  organizations, government agencies and science corporations in the
  Capital Region of Denmark
• Established in 2009 in order to:
  • Develop the already existing framework which is available for
    international congresses
  • Ensuring broader support among prominent public and private
    actors in Denmark
  • Identify challenges that limit the development of Copenhagen as
    host city for international congresses
  • Develop proposals and ideas for future initiatives to promote
    Copenhagen as a world class congress destination
