Target group Destitute 10 million households Urban (26%) Rural (74%) Upper Poor 70 million households ($1-$2/day PPP) Very Poor 80 million households (up to $1/day PPP) Medium farmers to small entrepreneurs who have some consistent source of enterprise income or work.  Landless daily laborers with no assets to small farmers and micro-entrepreneurs who have some income generating assets (livestock, land, sewing machine).  Families with no daily source of income Employed poor such as housemaids and industrial laborers to small entrepreneurs who have some consistent source of enterprise income or work.  Daily laborers with no assets to micro-entrepreneurs who have some income generating assets (e.g., vegetable cart, cycle rickshaw). All are characterized by not having a consistent income source. Prabal K Sen  Professor - Economics, XLRI : Prof. Prabal Sen has served as a senior public sector banker for over two decades. He has offered consultancy services, among others, to the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Rajesh K Aithal  Assistant Professor - Marketing, IIML,  Rajesh is Fellow-IRMA. Rajesh has close to four years of professional experience, in which three years are in sales and distribution and the remaining in teaching.  Mohammad Amin  CEO  Adhikar:  He has vast experience in the field of development and has so far authored 4 books on Microfinance. Amin is also currently serving as Executive board member of Sanhati (Network of NGO) in Orissa.  Deepak Amin  Deepak is the co-founder and CEO of Covelix, a Seattle based software consulting company. Prior to Covelix, Deepak also worked at Microsoft for many years as at Microsoft, Redmond-USA. Deepak is also an advisor to Grameen Foundation. Sachi Shenoy, Innovations Manager  Unitus -  Sachi holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship with High Honors from the University of Chicago. Sachi has also worked at New York-based CDVCA, JP Morgan Chase, and Price Waterhouse LLP.
Sitaram Rao  :  Mr. Sitaram has over a decade experience in micro financing in India. He has widely traveled and is on the Advisory Board of many Micro Finance companies. He is also the Treasurer of Sa-Dhan, the Association of Micro Finance Companies. Manoj Sharma  :  Deputy Program Director  Microsave India Manoj is a development finance and SME specialist with more than 15 years of experience, and coordinates the India operations.  During his time at SIDBI, Manoj was part of the SME financing team which negotiated a USD 225 million assistance package Krishnan Rajaram  - Krishnan has over 8 years of experience in the IT and financial services industry focused on institution building, change management and managing business operations. Krishnan is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He currently lives in London. Krishna Tiwary   Lead Partner in Krishna Anurag and Company firm based in NOIDA. Providing advisory services to ICICI Bank, Power-Grid Corporation of India, and Sphere Partners.
Lokesh Kumar Singh- Managing Partner: 油Lokesh has got over four years of professional experience in different fields. He worked in SKS Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. (Indias largest NBFC-MFI) for over 3 years and was part of its core leadership team when the organization was undergoing pan India expansion.  Biswanath Swain  Manager Operations:  He brings along over 4 years of experience in Microfinance operations in various geographies. His most recent assignment was setting up the Varanasi Area operations in the state of UP with Nirmaan Bharati.  Ashutosh Kumar Singh - Project Manager Information Technology:  He was responsible for the IT implementation of Bandhan Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. Prior to that he handled the development and maintenance of IT for SKS Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. for three years.  Siddharth Misra  Manager Business Development :  He previously worked as an Area Manager in SKS Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. Responsible for setting up the operations in Eastern UP, he went on to manage their operations in Marathwada region of Maharashtra.  Niraj Pareek  Manager Human Resources:  Niraj worked in the Accenture India Delivery Centre at Bangalore for two and a half years in the HR Team. He also had a short stint in the Microfinance sector, primarily in operations side.

  • 12. Prabal K Sen Professor - Economics, XLRI : Prof. Prabal Sen has served as a senior public sector banker for over two decades. He has offered consultancy services, among others, to the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. Rajesh K Aithal Assistant Professor - Marketing, IIML, Rajesh is Fellow-IRMA. Rajesh has close to four years of professional experience, in which three years are in sales and distribution and the remaining in teaching. Mohammad Amin CEO Adhikar: He has vast experience in the field of development and has so far authored 4 books on Microfinance. Amin is also currently serving as Executive board member of Sanhati (Network of NGO) in Orissa. Deepak Amin Deepak is the co-founder and CEO of Covelix, a Seattle based software consulting company. Prior to Covelix, Deepak also worked at Microsoft for many years as at Microsoft, Redmond-USA. Deepak is also an advisor to Grameen Foundation. Sachi Shenoy, Innovations Manager Unitus - Sachi holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship with High Honors from the University of Chicago. Sachi has also worked at New York-based CDVCA, JP Morgan Chase, and Price Waterhouse LLP.
  • 13. Sitaram Rao : Mr. Sitaram has over a decade experience in micro financing in India. He has widely traveled and is on the Advisory Board of many Micro Finance companies. He is also the Treasurer of Sa-Dhan, the Association of Micro Finance Companies. Manoj Sharma : Deputy Program Director Microsave India Manoj is a development finance and SME specialist with more than 15 years of experience, and coordinates the India operations. During his time at SIDBI, Manoj was part of the SME financing team which negotiated a USD 225 million assistance package Krishnan Rajaram - Krishnan has over 8 years of experience in the IT and financial services industry focused on institution building, change management and managing business operations. Krishnan is a Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He currently lives in London. Krishna Tiwary Lead Partner in Krishna Anurag and Company firm based in NOIDA. Providing advisory services to ICICI Bank, Power-Grid Corporation of India, and Sphere Partners.
  • 14. Lokesh Kumar Singh- Managing Partner: 油Lokesh has got over four years of professional experience in different fields. He worked in SKS Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. (Indias largest NBFC-MFI) for over 3 years and was part of its core leadership team when the organization was undergoing pan India expansion. Biswanath Swain Manager Operations: He brings along over 4 years of experience in Microfinance operations in various geographies. His most recent assignment was setting up the Varanasi Area operations in the state of UP with Nirmaan Bharati. Ashutosh Kumar Singh - Project Manager Information Technology: He was responsible for the IT implementation of Bandhan Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. Prior to that he handled the development and maintenance of IT for SKS Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. for three years. Siddharth Misra Manager Business Development : He previously worked as an Area Manager in SKS Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. Responsible for setting up the operations in Eastern UP, he went on to manage their operations in Marathwada region of Maharashtra. Niraj Pareek Manager Human Resources: Niraj worked in the Accenture India Delivery Centre at Bangalore for two and a half years in the HR Team. He also had a short stint in the Microfinance sector, primarily in operations side.
