King Diomedes and King Eurystheus plotted to kill Hercules. They sent Hercules to tame Diomedes' four flesh-eating mares. While freeing the mares, Hercules and his friend Abderus were attacked by Diomedes and his army, but Hercules drowned them. When he returned, the mares had eaten Abderus. Hercules fed the mares Diomedes' body, then took them to King Eurystheus, naming the place Abdera in memory of his friend.

The Texas outbreak has slowed down, but sporadic cases continue to emerge in Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
Elsewhere in the US, we continue to see signs of acceleration due to outbreaks outside the Southwest (North Dakota, Montana, and Colorado) and travel-related cases. Measles exposures due to travel are expected to pose a significant challenge throughout the summer.
The U.S. is on track to exceed its 30-year high for measles cases (1,274) within the next two weeks.

New Mexico: 81 (83% of cases are from Lea County).

- 1. The Wild Mares of Diomedes
- 2. King Diomedes and King Eurystheus made a plan to kill Hercules. Diomedes had four mares and they usually ate human flesh. They called Hercules to tame his four mares. Hercules, who was clever, took with him his friend Abderus. Together they saild to Tirida. The next day before the guards killed them Hercules and Abderus went down to the stables and freed the mares.
- 3. But the horses had iron chains and made a lot of noise and woke up Diomedes. Diomedes and his army went after Hercules and Abderus. Hercules took Abderus and the mares to the shore and went back to fight with Diomedes. Hercules drowned Diomedes and his army. When Hercules returned the mares had eaten Abderus.
- 4. Hercules was angry, then he gave the mares Diomedes body to eat. Before returning home he called this place Abdera in memory of his friend. Hercules took the mares to King Eurystheus and the King killed them. Alicia 3尊 c
