AbstractMukkarin SeangprohThis study analyzed changes in land use in Phuttamonthon, Nakonpathom, Thailand between 2005 and 2008 using satellite images and geographic information systems software. The researchers divided land use into five categories: rice fields, orchards and fields, urban areas, water bodies, and other. They found that rice fields were the largest land use both in 2005 and 2008, and increased the most between those years, while orchards and fields decreased the most. The changes were likely due to government policies supporting rice prices during that period.
