Africa University introduced new academic colleges and degree programs for the 2016-2017 year. There were 1,394 students from 25 African countries, with 39.1% being international students and 60.9% being Zimbabwean. The student body was split among colleges of Business, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences. Facilities included buildings for teaching, services, and student housing across the campus.
