My Goal Kristen Schwenn
My Goal   General: To loose 10 pounds by May 20 S pecific: I will eat healthier and work out for at least an hour 3-4 times a week. M easurable: I will weigh myself everyday and keep a record my work outs. A chievable: I will use my recordings to push myself to work out 3-4 times a week. R ealistic: I will commit myself and once I am committed I will loose weight. T imely: 6 weeks is plenty of time to loose 10 pounds once I commit myself . I chose this goal to become more healthy again. To get back into a routine of eating more healthy and getting exercise.  I had to have strong will power not to eat all of the foods that are unhealthy at the dinning hall even though I wanted to eat them. I had to motivate myself to go to the gym or go for a run and get exercise.
Factors   Predisposing: I have always been athletic and like to work out. Positive: There is a gym right on campus which is free for students and access is easy. I love to work out once I get myself motivated to go there. I always feel so much better after I work out. Negative: between school work and working 20-30 hours a week it makes it hard to find time to work out. Always being on the go makes eating healthy really hard because the convenience of fast food or unhealthy snacks to go.  Reinforcing: I know that once I get into a routine I will stick with it. I know that once I get going I will loose the weight I want and I will be happier with myself and I will be healthier.
Resources   The gym on campus in the hub and the gym in my dorm Langdon woods are easily accessible and there is no membership fee needed for students. My roommate likes to work out also so she pushes me when I am not motivated to go and work out. Once I wrote down my schedule for school and work it made it easier to plan out when I could go work out. My parents both were trying to be more healthy so they would talk to me and try to make me be healthier and eat more healthy.
Measurable   Each day I wrote down what I had eaten Every week I had wrote down when I worked out and what I did for a work out and how long I worked out. At the end of each week I weighed myself on a scale in my room.
Evaluation   I successfully accomplished my goal thanks to eating more healthy and working out multiple times a week. I lost ten pounds and I feel much healthier. I plan on continuing to eat healthy and working out with summer. This summer I wont have to worry about planning out when I work out because I will have plenty of time with no school work to do. I learned that if I stick my mind to something I want that I will achieve it. I also learned that it is possible to be a college student and eat healthy and work out.
